The QUANCOM® USBREL8 is a Plug & Play module with 8 DIL Reed relays. The maximum load for the relays is 1 Amp / 15 W. This USB module is also available as USB 16 relay module with 16 optocoupler inputs.

You can use the module as freestanding device in the laboratory environment, as mobile equipment connected to a Notebook or it can be mounted to a top-hat rail i.e. for the use in a rack system.

USBREL8 has a plugable connector to connect and disconnect the module easily from your external circuits without using a screw driver.

The state of all relays is visualised through the onboard LED's. The configuration LED shows that the module has power and if it is initialized by the driver. Up to 4 modules can be used at the same time. The module can be identified by a module address which is set by jumpers onboard.

The USBREL8 board is supported by QLIB (QUANCOM Driver Library) which makes an easy programming under Windows XP, 2000, 98, Agilent Vee and LabView possible. We implemented a command set which is usable for all operating systems. An application generated for Windows 98 can be used directly on a Windows XP PC. You don't need any experience in driver development to program this device.

The Linux drivers allow the use of USBREL8 under Linux Kernel Revisions 2.2.X or 2.4.X. We have included a Mini-QLIB implementation to the drivers archive.

The USBREL8 is also available as PCI relay card with 16 relays and 16 optocoupler inputs, OPTOREL16 or as USB 16 relay module with 16 optocoupler inputs
