- Full range USB device with Windows and Linux drivers
- 16 * 32 bit counter
- Read out all channels at the same time
- 4 counter modes: (Count; Count with latch and automatic reset; Frequency counter; Frequency divider)
|
The USBCOUNTER1 module has 16 counters with a 32bit width, which have a maximium Inputfrequency of 10MHz. Every counter can be connected to one of the input channels and uses one of 4 counter modes which will be described in the following text.
Counter mode 1: This mode counts the edges of the input signals.
Counter mode 2: This mode counts with latch and automatic reset. In this mode all the voltage signals are saved and are ready to be fetched from the PC. The automtatic reset is controlled by a timer which can be configured by the software.
Counter mode 3: This mode is the frequency counter In this mode the input signal counts the input edges. The difference between mode 1 and mode 2 is that the Gate gets a defined frequency by the software. Now all incoming frequency edges are counted and saved into the latch by the USBCOUNTER1 module. The Gate gives a signal to the latch that indicates it to save and another signal to the Clear that lets it reset the counter.
Counter mode 4: This mode is the frequency divider. In this mode also all inpu singals are counted. Additionally it is possible to define a "Counter compare value" for example 1000. Form now on the vlaue will be compared with the sum of counted input signals. If the sum reaches the compare value (i.e. 1000) a signal is sended to the clear input which will reset the counter. The same signal will be send to another counter input by the FlipFlop.
